Building a custom customer portal

This article covers a high-level overview for recreating the custom portal experience using Recharge's custom integration.

The Recharge customer portal is where customers can edit their subscriptions, update billing information, or see their purchase history.

There are two approaches to build a customer portal with the API:

  • Recharge-Hosted customer portal (Recommended): This approach is recommended because redirecting a customer to this existing page requires minimal API calls and lets the existing infrastructure perform the technical heavy lifting of managing the customers' subscriptions.
  • Third-party customer portal

If you require a fully bespoke experience for subscription management, you can use Recharge's REST API to perform updates to customer subscriptions yourself or build your own customer portal.
